Things had been said certainly harsh things when they were both younger and Petunia had meant them than but now that she had everything she wanted she was coming to realize it wasn't everything she wanted. Oh Vernon was wealthy and Vernon was successful and he pampered her like the princess she knew she was but there was something missing from her life. Something that she knew was her family. Mummy was still every bit loving and supportive as she'd always been and daddy was well in short daddy. Quiet the character. Petunia pushed back the locks of blond hair that had recently been styled in a fine salon. She was meeting her sister out and about. Her treat since she didn't want to stress mummy and daddy's checkbook, or make Lily have to pay for the style of life she had become accostum too. She knew that Vernon would have a fit if he knew that she was meeting with her freak of a sister. Still Petunia both love and hated, envied and feared her baby sister. She could always talk among her ritzy friends but they were never quiet as genuine as Lily was and Petunia liked that fact about her she could get true answer out of her sister.
Even if she went through those phases of being unsure what to make of her. Some times there were on the ins and sometimes on the outs. She had gotten wind from her mother that Lily was getting married and it was no big surprise that she was going to wed the Snape boy from down the lane the two of them had so often been off together as little children. She suspected they were sweet on each other early on. Petunia would admit to a level of jealousy there as well. She was three years older than Lily but Severus never quiet acknowledge she was a girl, only had eyes for her sister. They were both magically inclined and the magic awed her but made her afraid as well. Than there was the deeper rooted anger, because somehow Severus had stolen her sister away. Not in the manner one might expect via magic or anything. Just the two of them always fit together like two puzzle pieces that belonged, she felt like a third wheel. Like she suspected Lily felt when she dragged her along with her friends in school who wanted to primp and preen in front of the miror.Lily had never been one of the fashion girls. She wore what she reach in her closet and pulled out half the time. Most of the time it really worked for her regardless.
She had tentively written an Owl to her sister and had her mother send it. She would have asked Mrs.Snape but the older woman always scared her. She was like a witch in the fairy tales. Not quiet right something about her made Petunia want to run for the proverbial hills. She hoped Lily knew that this place was a dressy place she was sure her little sister would do her research and that she would be on time. She was nervous very, very nervous. Still she watched the door for her sister's arrival just the same.

She said we got to hold onto what we got It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not.We got each other and thats all right for love we'll give it a shot Oh,we've got to hold on Ready or Not You live for the fight When thats all that you've got - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Why now of all the times that they could have met would Tuney want to meet with her now ? Lily wasn't really sure but she decided that the best thing to do was make a weekend of it in London. At least she and Severus could tie up loose ends for there wedding plans. Still not magically chasing sheets to catch them more detention. There parents had been a bit abashed by getting them that detention. Though Lily figured if they did it they felt justified in what they did and would have no problem doing so again should they feel the need arise--which was what scared her. The other thing was Lily was still a student and saving fora place of her and Severus's own once they were out of school and than there was the baby to think of. Why on earth would Tuney want to meet at a fancy resturant. The answer was simple really. she felt more at home there Lily figured. It was less likely that magic would be used. Of course Lily wouldn't enlighten her that at seventeen years old she and Severus were adults with all that entailed. They were capable of doing magic in the real world as well as Hogwarts. It was something she didn't think needed to come up so that said.
Lily had tried to find something appropriate to wear out to dinner but had failed spectacularly. She just didn't go out like that. her idea of a romantic date required a book, Severus and a warm fireplace or a movie in place of the book. It really wasn't like her to be extravagant. So she had wound up getting Severus to help her dress. Which led to her being a bit later than she wanted to be. She should have known better of course that was the last place she knew that Severus wanted her to go by herself on top of that. Given the Christmas break incident. He was quiet slytherin and knew how to distract her properly. So she had been in such a hurry she'd apportated to the place. Well, just outside of the place anyways. The gown was a soft silky pastel rose and something she'd borrowed from Rose. Her hair was pulled up and curled lightly. Lily didn't like playing dress up to this level often though she knew she could turn heads when she did. She didn't hold it against Tuney that there idea of friends didn't mesh. Nor that she had outside ideals on how things were. She never fit among Petunia's friends, any more than Tuney liked Severus. Somethings would simply never change.
She wore the locket part of her charm neclace along with key, a slim bracelet and earrings to match her engagement ring. Allowing her eyes to adjust to the dazzling lights she took a breath and blinked. The smell of food came to her and she was glad for that potion she had. She was either really hungry or sick to her stomach by the smell of food. This would pass she knew she'd read books. Still. She told the man in the coat and tails who she was looking for who gave her an appraising look and led her over to the table where Tuney was. Lily offered her sister a faint little smile. "Hi Tuney." she managed not moving to hug the other woman until her escort had departed. "I admit to some hesitance as to why you would want me to be here given how strained things are between you and I.." she said as she settled into a seat her green eyes going to the blue of her sister. 'So I must ask if something is wrong, or more pointedly why am I here ?"

To say that she was nervous was also something that she tried to hide, but Lily had always been empathic towards her and would know by the set of her lips and her eyes. Lily had a bad habit of watching peoples eyes. So Petunia knew she'd be able to tell and she hated that. She really disliked the idea of her being able to fathom her deepest and inner most secret by meeting her eyes. Still Petunia wanted to know about the plans her sister had there was still that pull. That sisterly tie between them and Petunia pushed her hair back from her face with one hand and reach for her cup with the other. She needed to make sure she wanted to be here. It was true that she choose this place to give herself an added protection. The fact magic wasn't suppose to be done outside of the school helped. Though she'd have likely been far more nervous had she realized that there was allowance for seventeen year olds and older. No one had told her, than again her letters had been polite and small, a card here and there. It might have made her a bad sister but not everyone was comfortable with witches.
It was a wonder if she was really going to marry the Snape boy that he let her out of the house at all. She knew that there had always been something between Lily and Severus. She had thought he was interesting at first, and had been slightly annoyed that he fancied Lily over her seeing as she was older than her. Oh had passed quickly into scorn and something akin to fear. Petunia had consistently dragged Lily to all the right places. The right parties to meet influential people. Lily was beautiful she could have her choice of men. Even Petunia knew it and she was reluctant to give her sister anything more to lord over her. However, her little sister had just not fit in. Perhaps, secretly much to her pleasure. She had a feeling if Vernon could have his pick he'd have also choose Lily, it seemed that red haired girls were far more well liked. Petunia wanted to discuss children with her sister, she wanted to know if Lily could see the future for her maybe, mostly she was so confused about it all. She wanted a child but wasn't sure how Vernon would feel.
Lily was not use to dressing up she could tell when the other woman showed up, yet still she managed to look beautiful with her hair swept up and curled lightly. The dress was one of there mother's she knew that much because she had raided there mother's closet far more than her sister had. She smiled faintly when she heard the pet name Lily had called her by for years and stood up to hug her sister. "Lily, I am so glad that you came, I feared that you wouldn't." she whispered as she hugged her lightly. "You..look well but I must ask are you feeling well, you look a bit pale, even for you." she said as she drew back. When they were alone it was so muc easier to pretend that nothing was different that nothing had changed from childhood."I..I don't know, its foolish I know and I know that after Christmas you'd likely want to see me flogged." she sipped her water. "I am sure Sna-- Severus does I saw the look he shot me if looks could kill I tell you." she took a breath and motioned to the menu. "Order what ever you like, Vern and I have a tab here." she said "What I wanted was and is you, I want to talk to you, I need to know things and I can't really talk to anyone else about them you know."
