WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • There were not many things that Severus got nervous about. It was not an emotion that was useful in the path that he had chosen in the upcoming war, but there were some things that slipped past the barriers, the self assurances, the rationalisations, and hit the button marked butterflies in the tummy. The fact was that he was going into one of those situations now, though he knew, as he walked alongside Lily with Andromeda not far behind them, that he had little cause to be worried.
He had propsed to Lily before they had come back from the holidays. This was not an escape from the war as many would use marriage in the coming years, but an affirmation of what they both already knew, that the pair of them were so intune with each other that they could, would, spend the rest of their lives together. They were not shouting about the upcoming occasion, nor were they hiding it, Lily wore the ring that he had bought her, but there was a certain mixed feeling in Severus’ own Commons. Some girls had always thought they could turn his head to them, others among the room had a certain degree of sympathy given the common belief that he was with Lily solely for a link to the Order. Of course, there were the others, some among the Death Eaters, that distrusted Severus, though that he had said that she held no sway over him under veritiserum, that she was a means to an end, well they took that as proof enough for now.
Their mothers would want a wedding, they had already sent over materials for he and Lily to look over and those materials, charmed to follow him around begging pick me, had already landed him with detention. Almost as a way to escape the whole situation as a whole for the moment, he and Lily had come upon the idea of handfasting. While the wedding might be for their mothers, this was going to be for them, though since they were calling on the spirit of one of his ancestors, Morgana le’Fay, to witness the union it was not quite as simple as it might have been thought to be. However, it was what the pair of them had wanted, and Andromeda who studied old magic with Lily had agreed to act as priestess for them.
They had decided to do this today, on Valentines, because of how commercial the day was, this was a way of giving it a meaning for them. With students bustling around getting ready for the ball, it had not been difficult to slip away and the three of them were nearing the clearing that Severus and Lily had long keyed to their blood as the twilight hours descended upon the school. He ran his hand through his hair, taking a breath as he stilled his nerves. A smile touched his lips as he turned to Lily, “Are you ready, dear?” Things had moved quickly up until now, but there was an air about this that made it seem they were taking a step that would not be reversed, it was not something to do lightly.

SHE SAID WE GOTTA HOLD ON TO WHAT WE GOTIT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERANCE IF WE MAKE IT OR NOT ~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~
It wasn't her nerves that was bothering her, no it was the butterfly's in her stomach having the Quidditch match she hoped they'd stop soon but they didn't show any signs of being done. For all she knew they were going to go into over time. She was sure of what they were doing but it was a huge step and while there was no fear from her, Lily knew this was there choice and what they both wanted but hand fasting were always..well oddly binding in Wizarding Circles from what she and Andromeda had read. Than showed Severus. It had been a good idea, it could be something for them as much as the wedding would be for Rose and Eileen. Lily wore a long chemise of a soft rose colored silk over that was a deeper pink laced at the sleeves and fell to above ankle. Her hair was free but curled lightly her bangs falling over her right eye and she wore a crown of tigerlilies sort of a name sake. While she would have liked to have gone in bare feet she wore hose and slippers because it was cold out. Her heavy fur trimmed hood was worn over that just in case.Though she'd tossed back the hood. She'd dressed for the Valentine's Ball and had made an appearance so they could slip off without worry.
Lily had been surprised to happy tears when he'd proposed to her. She couldn't help the romantic in her and when the man you loved went down on one knee. There marriage no matter what people thought in his Commons, as it soon wouldn't matter, and no matter what her friends thought or his friends she used that word lightly when refering to his people. There marriage was one that would still be strong and more so passionate in there coming years. They didn't need to advertise about it, word had a habit of getting around. Lily wore her band everywhere she went, and her friends knew and people talked. So there were so many odd little conversations going on all over the place that Lily could hardly keep up with them all. It had been Potions, and Spells, and oh Severus had bewitched her wtih dark magic. That one was the most laughable. Lily was an expert at charms, and was damn good at counter curses. She'd had excellent teachers after all. Lily had already made her will known to the girls in his commons, and if they needed a refresher the red-head was more than happy to deck another one of them. She didn't condone violence to win a situation sometimes, though that was the only way.The older Lily got the more sure she was of herself, as a woman as a person and as a witch. what the Death Eaters though was no concern to her as long as they bought the line Severus handed them.
Rose and Eileen deserved a wedding, Lily knew that they had both been watching them closely growing up. However its a mothers place to guide not own there children. There had been little doubt that the two were in love with each other. They had both listened when they'd been told not to get married just to escape what ever was going on, Eileen doubted that was it but she told them that just the same. It was the same thing she'd told Andromeda, though with her own son she understood all to well he'd loved one girl all his life and would die loving one woman. There babies had grown up however it made Eileen happy that at least she knew she left her son in good hands. Most importantly they made each other happy. Lily had shared the detention mostly because she'd been involved in it too. It had been a chain reaction. Lily had dropped her bag trying to scoop up the colors embaressed already, she had opened her bag to stuff them in. Her Big Book of Monster had gotten out and chased after Severus who'd wound up on a chair and she had been trying to keep peace and grab her book. It had ended..badly Lily trying to catch Severus and having him land on her, his school shirt getting torn up. The teasing that had followed had been horriable. This was there way of commiting to each other in a manner that only they could. It was something even Eileen hadn't researched.It was just between them. With Andy's help.
He was her true love and Lily was fairly sure that this day would also hold power. Not because of the fact that it was widely liked for the commercial means, but rather because it was originally intended for lovers. She didn't want to use Beltaine it was often used, she wanted an older holiday. She would have done it on Halloween but again there was the fact that it had passed. Lily had pricked Andy's finger earlier that week so she could attune the place to the girl as well. She only cast on glance behind her to Andy who had the book. They were invoking she and Andy by the two of them being in a ritual together. Lily's attention was brought back to her fiancee when he ran a hand through his hair and flashed him a warm smile. She reach out to catch his hand and entwined her fingers with his. " Yes I am, are you Sev ?" she asked peering up at him as she glanced around where they were there was something akin to magic in the very air. It was heavy with it, she knew that he had to feel it he was sensitive to it. Lily glanced back to Andromeda and called softly. "You okay back there Andy." her hand never leaving Severus's as she tucked red hair behind her ear and glanced back around them. "I was hoping the snow would fade in time, but no such luck." Lily didn't know if it was a good idea to have invoke Morgana but it was better than Merlin she thought. "Remember when we pass between the two trees we'll be in the clearing, you'll know it because it will be warm, and there is no snow there." she said. The emerald eyed witch spun her wand and the snow dropped from the bushes and they burst into winter flowers. "I'd have liked Tigerlilies." she sighed "It would be cruel to grow them only to have the ice kill them." she admitted still the feeling was around her again and she didn't have a word for it but she could tell it was mirrored in Sev's eyes he felt it. She wondered if it was just them because they were the binding pair, or if Andy felt it too.
Why was I one of the chosen ones? Until the fight I could not see The magic and the strength of my power It was beyond my wildest dreams
 Dark wings they are descending See shadows gathering around One by one they are falling Every time they try to strike us down
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Andromeda had no sort of reason at all to be nervous about this, at least not for the same reasons that Lily and Severus had, but still she knew that she was taking part in something that could be very powerful, something that had old magic running through its veins, and that was always something to treat with a wary respect. Lily had come across the idea and Andy had been more than happy to help her research it. A fair bit of it they had already known, or rather it was part of the magics that they could call upon and so it was lurking at the edge of their perception, but they had exhausted every resource to make sure that they had the details of the ceremony in full. Andromeda was dressed in a silk blouse and a multilayered gypsy skirt in dark green with silver trimming. It had worked well enough for the appearance she had made at the Ball, and it was appropriate for now once she had managed to slip away, it was well enough known that she rarely made more than an appearance at Balls in any case.
Andromeda had heard all the rumours around Severus and Lily and what might have brought about their marriage plans. She would have been quite willing to hex anyone who had spread half the rumours she had heard but it wasn’t her place, and it would also have given away perhaps a little more than Lily and Severus would be comfortable with regarding the true nature of their relationship. So she left it to them to deal with it as they would, keeping her head down and doing her bit and keeping harmful information under carefully constructed barriers as she had been taught. Andromeda had been quietly amused on the occasions when certain girls had overstepped the mark, though not as amused as she could have been knowing that the whole thing had stressed Severus out the first time. Still, one underestimating Lily did so at their own perils and the redhead had made it quite clear when she had needed to. She knew the line that Severus had fed to the others in the Commons, she would have been quite worried if she had known that his drink had been spiked with veritiserum but he had told her of his own accord, one of the only two people he had told and that because she had accidentally managed to glimpse his thoughts in one of their lessons in any case. He assured her that he could have as easily set about convincing her that her robes were fuchsia under the effects of veritiserum, he hadn’t set out to try it, but Lily believed him, she knew that much as they had been working on the handfasting research together.
Andromeda had listened to what Eileen had told her and nodded, telling her that she would marry who it was right for her to, or not at all, not someone who was convenient. She would be quite happy to stick to those words whatever came to pass on the issue, she was not one to be easily swayed, she sought neither material possessions nor status. Andromeda had been sat in the classroom when they had earned that detention, the materials that they had been sent had made so much racket that even Professor Binns had noticed them, and that was a feat in itself that far surpassed gaining the attention of those that were sniggering over it, She had told Lily that the rumours would die down, people would find something new to pick at. Of course in the case of the Slytherin girls that something new was often her, which made it a good job that she was close to mastering animagi, between Lily and Sirius working with her, it had been a matter of when rather than if given that she had had the aptitude for it.
The three of them would be performing a powerful rite in a magical place in a magically powerful day of the year. It was not one of the truly old festivals, but it was significant and that with the rest of it meant something. Invoking Morgana would be the nervewracking bit of it, if the woman, or the spirit of her, listened and decided to follow the invitation, well it could go well or not so well, Morgana had been a pureblooded witch after all, and part of what had made Severus attractive to those family mattered to was the fact that he was of her line. A smile touched her lips as Severus and Lily asked each other if they were ready and Lily caught that smile, rare that anyone including friends might, as she called back to her, “I’m just fine.” She sounded it, that was care of those occlumency lessons, powerful old magic was not easily approached, no less in the role of high priestess. She nodded as Lily told her they would soon be at the place, and the differences that would be seen. She checked through her bag for the ribbons she would use to tie their hands and the silver blade, being sure that she had everything that she needed for her own role in the ceremony. Andromeda could also feel the change in the air, preparing to use old magic tapped into her own innate gifts in that area making her senses more attuned, the air was thick with magic and she could almost see it. She was not concerned by it though, she would know if it were malign. It was certainly powerful, but there was no harm or ill intent towards them or what they prepared to do. They would invoke the elements, the points of the compass and Morgana, Andromeda half wondered how many of them knew of their invitation before time,
WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Severus’ own butterflies were playing a quidditch match over a duelling event, of that he was fairly certain. Oh he showed no outward sign of it, but people had often thought that he had had all emotion surgically removed from his very being. That was not the case, even if his level of discipline did not allow so much as his heart to pick up its pace, and he certainly knew that he had them now. He would remain as outwardly unflustered as he ever was, however, he was nervous, he was not one that old magic called to as it did with the other two for one, but he knew that what he was doing with Lily, that binding himself to her, was right, whatever others thought the reasoning behind their marriage to be was. He smoothed over his shirt and took a deep breath, expelling what he could of the concern. This was something to be celebrated, not dreaded, and he knew enough of the ritual to be sure that it was not harmful. Oh, it was binding, but he did not see a time in the future where he and Lily might regret that.
Severus had borne the rumours, and the sympathetic looks, some of them he had been partially responsible for given the line that he had fed the other future Death Eaters. He and Lily knew the truth, that was something that they could hold on to, the fact that what anyone else thought simply did not matter in the scheme of things, that the relationship was enduring, built on the right foundations and, simply put, going to last. That people thought he might have bewitched Lily with dark magic was almost as amusing as it was insulting, she had had good teachers, he and Eileen had been among them, there was little that anyone could do to make Lily, nor any redhead, do something that they did not want to do. One girl had told him that if he had ever needed comfort from the ‘sham’, that he could turn to her, that had been…silly. Especially given that she had said this with a member of the Order close by and he actually had to defend Lily, whether he was inclined to or not. He had put the girl in her place, and then told Lily which was perhaps crueller than anything he could do to her himself given that he couldn’t hurt a member of a pureblood family too badly and that he really shouldn’t hex girls.
Rose and Eileen had looked out for Severus, the latter more than he had known at the time, and of course he and Lily owed them both, he was happy to give them the wedding that they wanted as their mothers. He could just have done without the little bits of material set on getting him into trouble, whether that was part of the reasoning behind the charms on them or not. He and his mother would be having words about that, whether she was more powerful than even he with dark magic or no. Still, he loved their parents, well his mother and Lily’s parents, it would be forgotten when they were swept up in preparations after school. Tonight was about their own moment though, something that would be special to them, in defiance of anything else, rumours be damned. It was true that he had grown up loving one girl and would only ever love one woman.
Severus checked his fidgeting with his hair, suppressing the nervous energy that had caused him to do so as they neared the place that long been so special to them. He nodded at Lily’s question, “I’m quite ready.” He entwined his fingers with hers, giving her hand a soft squeeze. He could feel the magic in the air, almost as if it had gathered in anticipation of what was about to happen, though that idea was just a touch fanciful. He nodded, “The snow seems to be lasting, but as with all snow, it will fade in its time.” They would have brighter times, that much was to be sure, even if it was so bright in contrast to the darkness around them. A smile touched his lips, “Tigerlillies would have been nice, yes, but there is only one Lily that truly matters.” He knew that she would not allow her favourite flower to die a cruel death to please her for a brief moment in time. His eyebrows raised ever so slightly as the feeling behind the magic in the air registered, there was a feeling very much like…she was already here, or watching, that much he knew as much as anyone could of an ancestor who was that far back in his tree.
SHE SAID WE GOTTA HOLD ON TO WHAT WE GOTIT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERANCE IF WE MAKE IT OR NOT ~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~
Lily did not have the level of control over her emotions he did and she likely never would. She didn't lament it she was passionate and it showed in everything she did even this. Her nerves were from doing old magic not the bonding they were going to share. She knew him well enough to pick up faint details the small actions and mostly by glancing at his eyes. Lily had a sense for him as he did for her they'd had that since childhood. Like how he came over with soup, when no one knew Lily was sick to begin with. How he brought an extra jacket when she was out without one. She didn't care what others thought, well..she did.She would hurt someone for being to forward with Severus. Yes, he had said she wasn't marrying him for his looks, but his looks wasn't all there was to him. The fact that she fancied his dark hair and eyes it set off his paleness so well. Certainly brooding didn't work for many but it did for him, and she loved him for all he was. Lily's signs that she was nervous showed through because she was fiddling with the ends of her hair curling the crimson locks around her fingers. She was careful about what she choose to do. Nothing was done to be regreted especially nothing they'd done together.
Much like him Lily had endured the comments of are you daft, and what are or were you thinking ? Are you really going to marry him. She'd kept a tight reign on her temper so she didn't hex her friends. She knew all to well what they thought about it. Even after he called you that ? But that was childish, names were names, and even one as devestating as that would heal. Lily knew he didn't mean it he'd been worked up but telling others that was like talking to the wall, she was likely to get more out of the wall. The bewitching part really did set her into fits of giggles mostly because it was so far fetched. The girl who had been so understanding wasn't there year and quiet foolish to say so around the Order, mostly because it had gotten back to Lily. The red head had unleashed her temper on the girl, mainly because she was sweet natured yes, but even she had her lines to not cross, and that was going to be her husband she was propositioning. Lily had not been kind to the girl, and the effects of her charm might eventually wear off. Even Pompfey wasn't sure what to use to cure it. Since Lily had lashed out with her charms it was something that her daughter would inherit one day. The sudden spell creation. True to her druidic nature she'd caused the blood to heat in her skin and it caused severe wounds all over the girl she simply started to burn and her skin blistered all over. Lily had no cure, had no idea what she'd done. She'd gone for Dumbledore shortly after it had happened, and he'd saved her. Much like Goyle had been fortunate Severus had decided not to go to Azkaban to be rid of him. She had people back away from her at that point. Lily's element was fire but she was very earthy in nature, a bad combination. She had simply offered up if anyone else wanted to come onto her husband to be she'd love to hear about it now, save her finding out the hard way and coming for them. Oh they had scattered and left there so called friend to her own fate. Something about crazy mudblood, but there was also respect where there was fear in that House.
Lily was happy to get married in any way needed to make there mother's happy. She knew Eileen could do with more happiness in her life she suspected giving her a grandchild or two would be the best thing for her. It would give her a reconnection with her blood. Lily had wanted to be a mother some day since they were young. Even researching the information hadn't convinced her otherwise. Her temper aside she'd make a good mother,though she thought that fierceness might be a boon in the end.The wedding would come at least they had choosen a color Lily had said a green shade, since it would be white and green, they'd come to agree on emerald, as that was the shade of her eyes. At least that was aside, the next thing would likely be patterns, and Lily knew that but for now they had time to just them. With the slips of colors quieted. There was a level of trust between them that even there fifth year break up had not shattered. It was because they were so intune she suspected, she had loved him growing up, and hadn't seen a need for him to want to impress her she knew it had to do with Potter, most things did. Well, there would be no worrying for him about Potter trying to sweep her off her feet and steal her away. She'd loved him for the little boy he had been and the man he was.
He stopped fidgeting with his hair and Lily reach up and ran her fingers into his hair trying get it calmed not that it would help."It just...feathers I don't think there is any help for it." she told him with a chuckle. Lily smiled when Andy said she was just fine she knew the girl had to be a touch nervous too, it was a alot of responsiability to stand in as a priestess for them. Though Lily though she would do just fine. "I think you'll do just fine." she told her with a smile. "Though." she began when Severus's fingers entwined with hers she murmured "Why does it feel like its already started and we've just got here ? she nodded her head when he said he was quiet ready. Though didn't add she thought it was likely a very good thing since the sense was they were walking into something ordained. His words brought a blush to her cheeks and she dropped her gaze slightly. A soft smile curling up on her lips and Lily murmured. "The only Tigerlily you need huh?" she asked him. Though they were still moving along there was something that was noticeable when they stepped into the magic of the place.
There were birds, many of them ravens by the looks of them, and they had strung up shiny things within the trees that the soft glow of the forest only seemed to reflect. They watched the three of them closely clicking at them cheerfully almost.

Why was I one of the chosen ones? Until the fight I could not see The magic and the strength of my power It was beyond my wildest dreams
 Dark wings they are descending See shadows gathering around One by one they are falling Every time they try to strike us down
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Andromeda had more control over her emotions than some, she had always been the one to keep her thoughts to herself, to stay unnoticed, in a way it was a weakness as much as a strength, she was not like Sirius who had become a free spirit, nor Regulus who had accepted his fate and would build it into his plans, at the same time she was strong enough that she was sure of herself, she would not be moulded or pushed into places she chose not to go. This control had improved some under Severus’ tutelage, she had found more than a passing need to guard her mind. To some people, Lily and Severus could not be further apart, one was dark and brooding while the other was light, one disciplined while the other was emotional. They were yin and yang, having left a little of themselves behind as they brushed against and merged with the other. For one who was as perceptive as Andy was in her special way, that was visible. She figured, along with the fact that they had grown up together, that was why it worked.
Andromeda would have done something about the rumours if she could, it could not be the easiest thing to sit through, but she knew that that was not her job right now. She would support them in any way she could and she had made that clear to them, it was why she was here now given that she tended to not tap into her old magic too often. She’d shared a laugh with Lily over the rumours that she had been bewitched, she’d have loved to have seen anyone try, it was simply not a possibility. Also Lily’s close friends would know all too well if she had been, she knew that those she was close to knew her too well to ever be fooled. The girl who had outright propositioned Severus though, that was not pretty in any way, it had not been something tha could be brushed aside and her timing had…sucked. There were people on both sides watching to see what Severus and Lily would do, how well Severus could play his part in their eyes, how much Lily actually did care about the matter, how secure an asset she was to their aims, so to say that there was no one who was going to help the girl was putting it mildly. It was a show of just what old magic could do, and spontaneously created spells depended very much on the nature and emotional state of the caster, so the girl was lucky that Lily had had the sense to go to Dumbledore. There was certainly a little fear about her, especially as they knew she knew some of Severus’ spells, and where there was fear there was grudging respect, which could be a danger as much as it could be a boon.
Andromeda knew that something powerful was already there and waiting for them, it wasn’t like it was hiding and there was something about it that called to her old magic, she was a seer and it was a seer’s power that she felt, and that of a strong one to boot, there were really very few possibilities. She hadn’t wanted to say anything, she had a good guess that the other two knew that something was here. She simply nodded as Lily said she would do just fine. She ran her tongue along her teeth, “It certainly does feel that it has started without us, or that someone has been preparing the way.” She smirked somewhat at Severus and Lily’s back and forth, her mind was more on discerning the purpose behind the presence that was here, she didn’t think that it meant harm but this presence was old, centuries so easily, motives were hard to read with that taken into account. She looked up to the ravens as they entered the clearing, not feeling any surprise at this sight but instead nodding to them then looking to Severus and Lily.

WALK BLINDLY TO THE LIGHT and reach out for his hand .don't ask any questionsAND DON"T TRY TO UNDERSTAND• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Severus had worked long and hard for the control that he now had, and he still had to work for it. It had got to the stage where he did not need to think about his barriers, but that level of discipline cost him with his migraines. It was a price that he willingly paid after he had found out just what had happened to his drink and how he had been able to counteract that. He would have to be more careful in the future but it had had its hidden blessings. Lily was the one person that he could not lie to, and the one person he would not want to so that was ok with him, simply put they were intune with each other, and a look in his eyes would tell Lily all that she needed to know, it was why she had complained that he had never even met her eyes during their breakup, it was something that they had grown accustomed to over their youth. He did not care for people who were interested in him for his looks or the power a good relationship with him might give them, part of that was the thought of being the Dark Lord’s favourite was not one that thrilled him, though he could see where it would have its advantages. That was the problem, cold logic was not always the nicest of things. Every choice he and Lily had made together, however, this had certainly been one of the easier decisions, they’d already gotten past one very difficult one.
Severus would not have bewitched Lily even if it were remotely possible, that was not the way that love worked and there were plenty of stories over what happened once an artificial agent of love was taken away. It would have been taking her against her will which was something that the boy who had grown up with the girl Lily had been could not have lived through. Severus had not set about getting himself prepositioned, and girls in the Commons really should have known better, it had not worked in six years, even in his most vulnerable of times. The thing was though, as much as he felt for Lily who had had to go through hearing about that, the whole thing had strengthened their position in both camps, there was that cold logic again but there it was. The Order had been as interested in how he would react as the Death Eaters had been, and he and Lily had apparently passed tests on both sides. Lily had been more Severus’ concern at the time, she had been put in a bad place. He had had to fly onto the tower where she was sitting and not wanting to talk about it. So he had simply sat next to her and put an arm around her, told her that he loved her, that no one’s words or actions were going to change that. They had been heartfelt words and that was something that could be told from Severus, that was something that could not quite be faked.
Severus would quite happily get married for his mother, for Lily’s parents, he could just have done without the trouble of charmed colour patches chasing him around. He was also of a mind, like Lily, that having grandchildren would give his mother the chance to reconnect with her family, she had nothing to make up to him as far as he was concerned, but she had been the one that had to be distant to her own son, it would perhaps not be so easy for her to believe that. He had told her that she had nothing to be sorry for, it was one of his few completely open times, as rare as they were. There had been issues with Potter, and they had been silly to say the very least, maybe if they had actually sat down and ensured the other knew what they felt about each other it would never have happened. It had, they had moved on, that was all they could really keep in mind. This bonding was for them, not to ensure there would be no one else by any means but because both of them were ready for it. They loved each other as much as they had when they had been children and would never love each other any less, so now was certainly the right time for what they intended.
He gave a light roll of his eyes, “I doubt that will ever change, though I suspect mother will threaten to use charms to tame it come the wedding day.” He quite homestly did not doubt that she would, he would bear it, there were very few he would take a fussing from but they did exist. Severus frowned, “It does feel like we’re late, which shouldn’t be possible. There is a sense of waiting though, as if someone has set the scene and is waiting for it to be filled.” He smiled, “Yes, the only Tigerlily that I need.” He squeezed her hand, “Certainly the one that is important.”
Severus looked up to the birds, ravens, he was not surprised in the least. He bowed his head, not quite courtly but it would do sicne these particular birds had the feeling of spectators. He and Lily walked into the clearing as Severus pushed any thought that was not to do with the ceremony from his mind, there was some work to be done though cleansing the place had been done for the main over years rather than the minutes some would take..

SHE SAID WE GOTTA HOLD ON TO WHAT WE GOTIT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERANCE IF WE MAKE IT OR NOT ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~
The fact she could have control wasn't lost on her it was just the fact that she strived for a control on her temper took up a large part of it. Still when it came down to it she could discipline her mind when need be and had. If she was having a bad day she simply didn't study occulmency. This was because it was an easy in,into her thoughts and she well knew it. So did Severus and if something had bothered her that much she didn't want him taking it upon himself to right it. Andy worried her because she was afraid for her during all that was going on the war, what would happen if she sat it out, what would happen if she didn't.Yes it worried her very much, knowing about Teddy and her concern for the pair of them. They would be in a tight spot too. Not spy tight but Andy was a Pure-blood.That she and Severus knew each other in a manner that really was uncanny early on he had never had a reason to lie to her before, and even if he'd given her a white lie as a child about being okay if he wasn't she knew better. It wasn't something she could do with anyone else, just Severus.The fact he couldn't meet her eyes told her he was either unable, ashamed or hurt as he had never neglected to do so even when they had a rare fight. Lily would have liked to say the worst had passed, but it would be a lie. The War was only just starting.
It would have been easier to assume it was Lily who had bewitched him with her gift with charms which was where the laugh she and Andy had, had came from.Though much like him she would have never used artifical means to gain his affection.Love couldn't be bought or purchased with outside means.Not real love. Everyone had there breaking point, and she had reach her's with that girl. She'd already made a point by breaking one girl's nose apparently something more spectacular was in order to enforce her earlier statement. No she had not meant to almost kill someone, but no she didn't regret lashing out either. Lily was like the weather she loved, she was bold, passionate and she raged and apparently could be deadly when not heeded properly. The fact there were other members of the Order present who wanted to know if she was sure where her husband to be loyalties were. Others were her friends shocked by the girls out right invitation. The fact the Death Eaters wanted to know if she were really in love with him also was being watched.It was made perfectly clear she'd not take external affairs and her offer to deal with anyone else who'd like to tangle with her hadn't been spoken in jest or lightly. They called her hand only to find she wasn't bluffing.She had been given a stern talking to after she'd fetched Dumbledore and he'd insisted she take the rest of the day off to clear her head, the information had to have gotten back to her parents, but being death eaters themselves, or supporters she was fairly sure that nothing would be done. He had sought her out and it was one of the few times he did all the talking because words wouldn't come for her.She had been well aware her Prince didn't say anything he didn't mean, at least not to her.
Lily knew Andy would have hexed someone on her account, but there was only so much time she could spend with her in the School. Once they were out of school things would be much different. She'd be better able to watch out for her even have her over to where ever she was living. Lily hadn't thought that far ahead yet. Since she figured they could stay with her parents, or his mother. Maybe rent a studio flat. She had been brought up to believe that she could do anything she put her mind to. Have a job and children which was what she planned to do precisely. Oh it took work, but anything took work honestly. She'd have down time but during that time she'd study for the things that she neded knowing once the baby was there.She'd view any children they had when they had them as blessings,not something that was keeping her from something else.The thing was while he could tell Eileen he understood, she knew the woman was trying hard to make amends.It was something that the two of them would need to work through.Spending time with her mother often helped.The bond between them was already there, this just made it stronger. Had she felt she didn't love him as much as she had growing up, she'd never have agreed to marry him. If she felt even the faintest doubt about them,if she thought there might be someone else for her, she'd not be going into this clearing with him. Old magic had its way of picking up on doubts, and any Vow sworn was watched closely. It was why a practioneer of old magic never gave there word lightly.
Lily tilted her head to the side and a mischievious little grin touched her lips as she did. "Well, magic can only do so much."her tone affectionate Its been doing that since you were a little boy." her grip on his hand tightend slightly.Yes that was my feeling as well." she said and wrinkled her nose. "Doesn't that beat it all,late for our own hand fasting." she couldn't hide the amusement in her tone even if she had wanted too. She didn't mind the pet name Tigerlily, not from him. It was with others used it she got a bit irritated. She glanced around the clearing there was already enough going on, but even than she swished her wand to set about small lightly to illuminate there private place. "Well than my Prince." she whispered warmly. "Seems we shouldn't keep our guests waiting." she glanced up to the birds that had decorated the place with the various shimmering items. She had to give it to them that they were fetching. Lily untied the satin ribbons of her slippers and set them aside. The clearing was was beautiful with a small stream that ran through, a large bed of moss off to one corner and low hanging branches to keep sun out. There were gnarled tree roots that served as cubby holds, and even one that was smoothed that was often used as a desk when they studied. It was too cold for fireflies unfortunately. She sat her bag onto the desk like root and placed her cloak on the soft moss bed. She turned to Andy and nodded "And we have those who will bear witness." she rose her gaze to the ravens gathered there.The butterflies were in extra innings, and Lily turned to the other two. "Well must not disappoint our guests." she said taking a soft breath, and moving back to where Sev was. The presence there only seemed to get stronger with there appearance, and the birds even quieted as though awaiting what would happen next.

Post by Andromeda Circe Black on Mar 27, 2010 19:36:56 GMT -5
Andromeda knew that Severus’ control over his occlumency bordered on legendary. Oh she could keep her mind closed, she was an occlumens and she could slip into that frame of mind with ease, never before had she heard of someone who could stay within that mindset on a permanent basis. Severus had told her that he paid for it, and she had seen him sipping from a potion, or pinching the bridge of his nose which was about the most he had ever displayed that pain. In her own case, her thoughts were her own when she put her mind to it, her secrets certainly were and she owned her temper. She had what she needed from it. Andromeda would not join the front lines of that war, she despised the Death Eaters but doing harm to one of them, as she may have to do in that situation, would grieve her younger sister, someone who she still held dear in her heart and she doubted that she would ever think any less of her. That wasn’t to say that she was going to try and stay home and make house, she was no one’s trophy and…well stuff needed to be done. Her job would be no less dangerous, curse breaking for the Ministry, she had little doubt that the Death Eaters would provide her with much of her work.
Andromeda knew that there had been no bewitching necessary on either side. She was a seer, she just…knew. She had spoken about it with Eileen, whom could see auras, and everything just fit, there were things that even an occlumens could not hide completely from a seer who called upon old magic, that he had been able to lie under veritiserum, she knew it to indeed be a lie. That was why she kept her old magic as close to secret as she could, too many people on either side would want to use it, it would leave her feeling used. She could have told people without blood having to boil that Lily loved Severus, that she believed that he loved her, of course she knew that it was true also, but some people were just…slow, dangerously slow. You do not preposition a man who is engaged, doesn’t matter if he’s in school or considered an adult having left it, an engagement is a serious step. Oh she knew that what had happened had gotten back to the girl’s parents, it was the kind of thing that would get back to Death Eater families, exactly because the relationship and the opportunity that it provided was that important to them, and the Serpent’s Den had dozens of little spies reporting back home. It would be dinner table conversation for a while to come.
Andromeda was still not quite sure what she would do even if she were able to pass her NEWTs that year, but it was something that she was going to have to figure out. She still wouldn’t be of age for a few months, her parents could call her back home, and they would certainly want answers as to why Andy had taken her tests to soon and what she was planning to do now, so the obvious fact was that she was going to have to keep herself out of sight for that few months. Once she was of age, she would do what she had to do. Andromeda had liked Eileen when she had seen her over the Christmas just gone, she had been able to talk to her, and had received advice from her. She knew that she had to be sure of the path she was taking, that it wasn’t an escape, because she would live with her choices, good or bad, for the rest of her life. There was also the fact that they were both seers, though Andromeda had the stronger connection with it, someone who had lived with it for a generation longer was someone worth listening to.
She looked just a touch amused as Lily spoke of being late for her own handfasting, though there was just a touch of nervousness about her that leaked out, for all of Lily’s reassurances, and for all that she knew Lily was right, Andy had to hope, as she slipped her shoes off, that someone didn’t quite take umbrage to her assuming the role of a high priestess. One was never the master of old magic, certainly not at her age in any case, but the vessel. She took a breath to steady herself and spoke quietly, but with a subtle power behind her words, “I call upon the guardians of the Watchtowers of the West, thou deep-dwelling undines and swift-flowing naiads, loving dolphin and hidden eel, Zephyrus, watcher and master of the Western wind be with us in feeling and in vision, in the evening tide’s mystery and the upwelling autumn dreams. I summon and stir your cycling tides and call upon thee for thy presence and thy blessing. Come and be welcome in this our rite. Blessed be.” She felt the caress of the West wind and a smile tugged upon her lips. With the slightest turn of her head, she looked to Severus to continue the rite.

It was true that Severus paid a price for his gift, it was one he would not make known to many, and it was one that he had learned to filter out and ignore until he could take a potion for it, but it was a price indeed. To have the discipline to start such a frame of mind was impressive, but it maintain the shields without thinking about it incurred a heavy toll on brain and it was one that it took out on the head with the migraines. The price was one that he could live with though, and it had certainly saved him the trouble of the Death Eaters knowing his true feelings, his true thoughts, so for that he would take the splitting headaches that came and went. If there was ever anything wrong with Lily, Severus would do what he could to right it, but he would listen to her word, and he would value her right to keep things to herself. He could break past her barriers, or catch her without them up, but he would not do that to her. If he did find out what was wrong, then he would do what Lily needed, whether it was to right that or just to hold her, whether that felt like enough or not. Lily was still the way to his temper, but even that he could pull back on if she asked him to. It was quite likely that Slughorn would recommend him for the Potions position. Sadly Slughorn was on his way out sooner rather than later, there was pressure from certain people, so it was likely that Severus would be a teacher younger than many start. He would have to pull it off, all sides wanted him there for different reasons.
Severus and Lily had certainly not bewitched each other, but there was a magic between them in the way muggles and wizards both could experience. It was a love so deep that their connection with each other was simply uncanny, it was the magic that came with them each owning the other’s heart from such a young age, the magic that came when sweethearts could never truly be taken from the other. Oh there was perhaps something else magical, some could call it fate, or look to the stars, to Severus it was little more than the fact that from the first time to now, his heart beat a little faster the moment he looked into Lily’s eyes. He had not been pleased to be prepositioned, it was never something that he had given any sort of indication that he wanted. As Alexander put it, he had an air of no I don’t like you and no I don’t want to about him, so what possibly got into the girl’s head he had no idea. He was not sorry for what had happened to her, that much was for sure. He had been more worried about seeing to Lily and that she was ok. Severus would never lie to Lily, oh he could keep his barriers up, but she would always know the truth of the matter.
Andromeda would be looked after. That was all there was to it, whether it was as simple as a place to stay or a fidelus charm that was needed, he was not going to turn her away. She had endured and school should not be about that, especially not with the fact that in some ways, they would have to grow up all too fast. She would pass the NEWTs, he had no doubts of that even if she did, it was just a matter of staying with it and she had the discipline to. He and his mother would work through what needed working through. Perhaps it was later than they both would have liked, but that they were doing it was what mattered. Eileen’s friendship with Rose had certainly been a good thing for her, and Rose had been the one to keep the pair of them as together as they could be, both in terms of with themselves and with each other, this far. He had no doubts that he and Lily were doing the right thing, and instinctively, he knew that were there any, this would not be able to go ahead. They were talking about Vows, ones that would be carefully watched and then maintained.
He pulled a face for a brief moment, “I wouldn’t be sure about that, she is mean with a wand.” He didn’t mind that Lily likened him to a raven, though in a way, since he was of Le Fay’s line, the distinction was fitting in more ways than one.
Following suit with the girls, Severus slipped his shoes off and was barefoot as they entered the space in which the ritual would take place. He listened to Andromeda’s words and took her look once she had finished as his cue, “I call upon the guardians of the Watchtowers of the North, thou Earth Gnomes of within and oreads of the mountain forest, bear, slow and sure, and bull of great strength, tunnelling worms whose work nourishes life. Boreas, watcher and master of the North wind and ruler of all winds, dwell here with us in this place of the gods, be with us in solid strength and permanence, giving us sure knowledge of nature’s continuing cycles, the safe womb of night and the slow movement of winter. I summon and stir your enduring strength and call upon thee for thy presence and thy blessing. Come and be welcome here in this our rite. Blessed be.” He felt the touch of the North wind and with that cast a glance towards Lily, his intonation finished.
